Summers are amazing no matter where you live. Summer goes by so quickly so spending time wisely and having fun is a must. As Winnipeg is the only home I have ever known, below is the MUST to do’s in Winnipeg this summer. The options are vast and are adaptable to any family.

Preset Days

Winnipeg Fringe Festival

July 17-28, 2019

The Fringe Festival offers something for everyone, including families. In addition to entertainment set up for your children, take in some plays appropriately suited for the family.

Manitoba Stampede and Exhibition

July 18-21, 2019

If you like rodeos, no need to travel out of province. Plan some weekend fun out in Morris to take in the entertainment and chuckwagon races.

Steinbach Pioneer Days

August 2-5, 2019

Who doesn’t want to attend a parade where the kids receive candy and other items from the parade floats and walkers! Follow up the parade by exploring the Mennonite heritage village.

Folklorama

August 4-17, 2019

Folklorama turns 50 this year. Take in amazing entertainment while learning various cultures and tasting delicious food.

Memorial Park Movies in the Park

August 6: Happy Gilmore, August 13: Bring it On, August 20: Dodgeball & August 27: Mighty Ducks

Looking to enjoy a family movie outdoors, look no further than Memorial Park by the Manitoba Legislature. Arrive early to take a tour of the Legislative Building.

Sports – Blue Bombers, Goldeyes & Valour FC

No better way to enjoy a terrific evening in Winnipeg then being outside watching one of our sports teams. Choose the game and date of choice and take in some football, baseball or soccer.  Don’t forget your team gear!

Rainbow Stage

More summer outdoor fun. Enjoy an amazing musical at Kildonan Park. See Strike! The Musical or Cinderella.

St Norbert Farmers’ Market

Any Wednesday or Saturday of the summer can be spent walking around the amazing vendors out in St Norbert. Taste some amazing local food and take in the various crafts available.

Any Day of the Week!

Assiniboine Park Zoo

Plan a visit to see the various animals at the Assiniboine Park Zoo any day of the week. And see the stingray beach exhibit that is currently open.

Assiniboia Downs

Cheer on your picks and enjoy live horse racing. Match up your visit with the preset family fun days for bouncy castles, face painting and petting farms and pony rides – August 5, September 2 and 8.

FortWhyte

Take in some outdoor recreation and nature by enjoying FortWhyte. Various events and workshops are continuously offered up.

Fun Mountain

No better way to beat the heat than heading to the waterpark. Enjoy water slides, bumper boats, volleyball and mini golf.

Tinkertown

Rides, rides and more rides. No matter the age or height of your children, there are many activities to keep everyone engaged for hours.

Bridge Drive-In

A staple for the majority of all Winnipeggers. Take a bike ride to the BDI for your favourite ice cream treat.

The Forks

Nothing is more Winnipeg than enjoying a day (or night) at the Forks. Match up your plans with a spa day at the Inn at the Forks or to enjoy the Manitoba Children’s Museum or a Goldeye’s Game. Shop the various stores, enjoy some amazing food or simply relax basically anywhere and enjoy some craft beer or wine from The Common.

There is so much to do in Winnipeg that you will be sure to find something for you and your family to do. The weather gets very hot and sunny here so make sure you pack your sunscreen!
